SPIN

OVERVIEW
Spin
to Win
Introduction
If you are fascinated by spin, if you love to see a ball turn in flight, if you love swing bowling, Messi free kicks, hook and slice, then this is the game for you. To play well takes a lot of practise. Stick with it. If you can master the spin you'll be a great player. |
"There's nothing like it. To swerve the ball around your opponent's shield and on to the back of his field is a great feeling." "I like the way that you can play an easier version of the proper game. It makes it more fun to learn. You don't get frustrated." |

All the animations on this site were made for PCs. Apologies. Unfortunately, I have lost all my .fla files so can't copy and adapt them for small screens. I will have to make more from scratch. Click

Photographs
of the Equipment

Two photographs above show a complete Spinmaster set. One is very old and one is new. The old set has a centre cross, a 10cm line and a 20cm line. These are remnants from a time before the swords were introduced when the rules for positioning the shields were slightly different. Some players still like to have these markings on their fields but they aren't necessary. The other photograph show six burrs (sponge balls), and five mini-bats which are kept in a rather swish ring box. The photograph below is the oldest I have for the original prototye of Spinmaster circa 1979. It had no raised fields, no center fields and ditches, and no swords. The children are from Willingsworth High School in Tipton. |
